Richard of The Peking Duck and I are hosting a dinner on Friday, March 7. We haven’t exactly settled on a venue yet (suggestions welcome for someplace with a large private room, cocktails and–preferably but necessarily–Peking duck on the menu). The plan is for 7:30 drinks and an 8:30 dinner.
These are always lively gatherings with great conversation, if you have any interest in having dinner and talking China (and other things, too) email me at granitestudio@hotmail.com so I can reserve seats and send you directions to the location.
Hope everyone can make it.

Bummer…would like to go but alas being stuck here in the so-called “Spring City” means you miss out on these things. Sounds like fun!

That is too bad…but I’d trade you spring in the “Spring City” for sand/dirt season here in the “Olympic Dustbowl” anytime.
We’ll have dinner the next time you get up to Beijing.

I feel a little on the periphery of these events, never having attended before and also having only one very small toe dipped in the blogger’s pond.
Sadly, I’m too far away anyway. If I was closer to Beijing I would love to sit quietly in a corner and listen to the conversation.
It occurs to me that infiltration of such a gathering of laowai talent might be assigned as a training exercise by one of the CCP’s spy schools.

Stuart,
Sorry you can’t make it and I’ve enjoyed your new blog.
As for the PSB, that would have to be some really bored trainees.
