After 11 years and over 1000 posts, I am transitioning away from Jottings at the Granite Studio. It has been fun to write about China and Chinese history, but as I get older my interests have expanded and I’m excited about my new project, Slow Boats and Caravan Trails, which will explore history and travel not only in China but throughout Asia.
That said, I’m still based in Beijing, teaching Chinese history and I will continue to write about things beyond the scope of Slow Boats and Caravan Trails. Therefore, Granite Studio, as a site, will remain active, although it will become more of an archive of my published articles rather than an active blog.
Thanks to all of my readers over the years and I hope to see you somewhere in the islands and highlands of Asia and beyond.
